REMORA

Never Lose Touch

Family + Friends + Colleagues

Share your life story with the people who actually matter

Remora is not a social media company. It's a connected life company.

On social media, everything you post goes out to everyone you have ever connected with, and an algorithm you don't control decides what you see. Remora works the other way around. You choose exactly which people and which groups can see each post, and you control your own feed — changing what you see is as easy as changing a TV channel.

Our mission is to help people strengthen real relationships with the people they care about most. That means being intentional about who you share your life with, what you share with each person or group, and who and what you stay up to date with.

My Life Story

Our most popular feature: the whole story, not just the highlight reel.

Share photos, videos, and text from the events and moments that shaped you — the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because you choose who sees each post, you can finally share the moments that aren't idealized or aspirational or appropriate for everyone: a night out with friends, your first love and the break-up that followed, getting into college, getting rejected after an important interview, moving to a new city, losing someone you loved.

You can also keep certain moments completely private — a personal journal that happens to live online.

Although you may not want to share something with everyone, you should be able to share everything with someone.

How it works

  1. Open someone's profile and tap My Life Story. You start at the beginning: when and where they were born, if they have shared that with you.
  2. Scroll up to watch them grow up and experience life. When you reach the top, you are looking at where they are today.
  3. To keep up as new life events happen, open your feed, tap the filter icon in the bottom nav, and choose the Life Events filter.
  4. Add specific names to that filter and save it, so staying current with your most important people takes a single tap.

Attention vs. intention

Social media monetizes your attention without your control. Remora gives you agency, control, and intention.

Without intention

Legacy social media

Your posts and your life get shared with everyone or with no one, based on algorithms controlled by a small group of people. You see whatever the algorithm decides to show you, so you are passively consuming and broadcasting. The platform maximizes your attention and watch time regardless of what you want or how it might harm you.

With intention

Remora

You choose who sees what. You decide which groups matter to you. You control which updates you stay current on. Instead of handing your relationships to a feed, you are actively managing your relationships and your information flow.

What makes Remora different

Ten features built around real relationships instead of reach.

1. Feed filters

See only the people, topics, or types of content you want right now — life events, opinions, entertainment. Save your filters so you can change the channel and keep up with family and close friends more easily than with the person you met once at a party six years ago.

2. Selective sharing

Instead of posting the same thing to everyone, share each memory, event, and opinion with specific people or specific groups. Had a kid? Send those photos to family and no one else. There are no public posts and no public comments — this is selective and personal, not a town square.

3. Connections, not followers

Remora is about real relationships, so it is built on mutual connections rather than follower counts. How famous you are is not the point.

4. No vanity numbers

Likes and comments are private. We don't tally followers or display who liked your photo for everyone to judge, because sharing a moment with someone matters more than winning a popularity contest.

5. More than just likes

Not every moment in life is a happy one. React with the feeling you actually have, from appreciation and excitement to fear, anger, dislike, and disgust.

6. Backdated posts

Posts don't have to be shared live. Upload important events and memories and time-stamp them in the past to tell the history of your life to someone special, such as your kids or your spouse. You can also keep those entries entirely to yourself as a private diary.

7. Groups

Share with several people at once, filter your feed to one group, or start a group chat. In Members Only groups everyone inside can see who else is in the group, and no one outside knows it exists. Owner Only groups are visible to you alone, so you can quietly add or remove people.

8. No need to defriend

Break-ups and fallings-out happen, and defriending someone is awkward and feels permanent. Because you control your feed and what you share, you never need to take that step.

9. Private notes

Keep a private cheat sheet for the people you care about: their partner, parents, and kids, plus the details that are easy to forget. Set your own reminders to reach out, like calling your grandma once a month, so you don't lose touch.

10. Birthdays

Upcoming birthdays appear under the Birthdays tab. For anyone you are connected with, you can also create a private page only you can see and add their birthday yourself.
